It's been one hell of a ride.

4 years of niching myself into the realm of domestic and family violence (DFV) within my Bachelor of Criminology, and perfecting the art of research. Not going to lie, graduating felt anticlimactic but I think that bottles down to the fact that I know that my studying days are not over yet.

Before I get into the post grad talk, I want to share with you all what I have been up to on my break.

I have not had a good loooooong break since I graduated high school back in 2018. So the last 4 weeks? I have de relished in the freedom.

What have I done in my break? Basically nothing

So far, my break has been a break from almost everything. I have started a new hobby with crocheting, I got back into singing and piano, and I started studying for the medical school entry exams!

While I upload reels and photos, I haven't done that much writing, in fact, I have basically done fuck all and in another rewrite with a slight change in genre.

I'm still writing romance, don't worry.

I have decided that I'd rather see my plot driven by topical issues and how that affects my characters and their arcs rather than a romantic tale. This has pushed me into a general fiction genre with the sub of romance.

Will smut be included? Hard to say.

That said, I'm really keen to share my journey and it will force me to keep up with my blog.

Oh geez, this is what I got up too to start the count down.

I packed the next two weeks with everything I can think of. So enjoy these spiels of excitement and cringe.

  • Saturday 15th of July - 2 weeks left!

And to start off? Winnie the Pooh and Friends musical. Let's just say the child part of my brain had a lot of fun getting to laugh, but also adult me was a bit surprised that Eeyore had become more relatable, but Piglet will forever be my favourite.

  • Tuesday 18th of July - 9 days left!

I finally got a much needed massage and facial lol. I usually go once a semester to destress but this time I decided to wait until my holidays so I could treat myself at a proper spa rather than cheap shopping centre places. The spa I went to is amazing and they use Eminence products (I ended up buying some of the products the last time I went there lol - worth the money though). This isn't an ad btw.

Did I book to see the Barbie movie? Yes, yes I did.

Did I buy a white bag and belt for this fit? Yes, yes I did.

Did I create the perfect pink winter outfit for this movie? Yes, yes I did.

Do I have regrets? Nope, not at all.

I honestly recommend this movie 100%, Margot Robbie = best cast Barbie

  • 28th July - GRADUATION!

A. Vittoria @ her graduation
graduation

The day has come and I couldn't be happier. The work that went into all 24 of my subjects, the change of studies here and there. I am beyond proud of myself for sticking through this degree.

The mental breakdowns will not be missed and I know that I will have more to come in the coming weeks and into the new year. But alas! I am ready and excited for my next chapter. My aspiration and passion for forensic pathology is my driving force to get to where I need to go.

So what now?

This is a great question.

For the past 4 years of study, I wanted to write a series that reflected my gained knowledge on DFV. I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of information just yet, so what I will say is that, I am still writing.

I have two novels, the first is half way done and is a romance novel that will raise awareness for endometriosis. The other is in the planning, but is a general fic with the subplot of crime. This will be a series of standalone novels that revolve around DFV. I am planning to work with a mentor or several to ensure that they do not romanticise DFV nor become too dark for my target audience. The trigger warnings will be in a foreword and will be uploaded on my site closer to publication.
